This morning we left Castlefranco. It’s the official start of the tour. The destination is Asiago. Yes the place where they make the cheese they put on the bagels. It was a 60 mile day. The trip went through a beautiful lush canyon and then climbed up onto a plateau. We stopped and had a little lunch at around 2 and then to our hotel. Time for a bit of relaxation and maybe … just maybe … a gin on the rocks.

The prize to the end of the day was the Gelato. It’s a great treat for the end of the ride plus it fills the energy void. I’m particularly fond of the carmel and the 13 or so variations of the chocolate. The hotel is nice. Showered and washed out the cycling clothes before heading to a little bar where I wrote in my journal. Dinner and then bed.
